The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Wednesday night, arrested Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) police chief Brig. Gen. John Guyguyon on two counts of syndicated estafa.
Around 9:30 p.m., a CIDG-BARMM tracker team served arrest warrants issued by two Quezon City regional trial courts to Guyguyon at his office in Camp SK Pendatun, Parang, Maguindanao del Norte.
The warrants advised against posting bail.
According to the CIDG, Guyguyon did not resist arrest.
In serving the warrants, the CIDG team worked with Brig. Gen. Gil Tria, PRO-BARMM deputy regional director for administration.
Guyguyon's warrants were issued on December 1, 2022, by Judge Catherine Pespes Manodon of the National Capital Judicial Region (NCJR), RTC Branch 104, Quezon City, and on May 20, 2022, by Judge Kathleen Rosario dela Cruz-Espinosa of the NCJR, RTC Branch 91, Quezon City.
Officials from CIDG-BARMM confirmed the arrest but declined to issue statements.
