The Barangay Hall of Barangay 190 in Pasay City was fired upon by an unidentified suspect early Thursday morning, July 31, according to a report by Jecelle Ricafort.
Based on Ricafort's report, the incident occurred past 2:00 a.m. while three barangay tanods were inside the hall. They heard several successive gunshots from outside.
One of the tanods said they heard three to four shots.
Witnesses said the suspect, who was wearing a hoodie, quickly fled the scene after the shooting.
Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the attack. Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito de Sesto is present at the scene to lead the investigation.
No injuries or casualties have been reported.
According to the Barangay Captain, this is the second time their barangay hall has been targeted. The first shooting incident happened in either 2017 or 2018, during the term of his mother, who also served as barangay captain at the time.
De Sesto said they now have a person of interest in the shooting incident. He identified the individual as a man who is also a resident of the area and was previously confronted by the barangay chairman for smoking — something that reportedly angered him.
