Bakit Ikaw? Sotto says vice president should be the president's 'partner'

Vice presidential candidate and Senate President Vicente Sotto III said the vice president should not oppose the president.

"Dapat partner ka. Partner dapat ang vice president, hindi kalaban ng presidente," he said during Bakit Ikaw.

(You should be a partner. A vice president should be a partner, not the enemy of the president.)

Sotto also said that a vice president is not a "spare tire" role.

He explained that if someone has the "clout" of the Office of the Vice President, then they cannot be a "spare tire."
