The five-man advisory group is eyeing to finish the review on Philippine National Police (PNP) officials' courtesy resignations in less than three months, PNP chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said on Monday.
In a press briefing, Azurin said the group will convene on Monday afternoon to discuss the guidelines on how to assess the submitted resignations.
"Part of the discussion will also be how do we intend to finish the job in less than three months kasi dapat mabilis 'yung pag-ano natin. 'Yung mga data natin nadiyan naman to look and see para sa kanilang pag-evaluate," he said.
The PNP chief said the five-man committee has already crafted an initial working draft.
According to Azurin, other documents such as the cases filed by PNP officials during their drug war operations will also be reviewed.
"Para malaman natin kung 'yung mga cases ba na i-finile ay it will stand in court or na-file then eventually na-dismiss because of technicalities and why? So ayun 'yung titingnan natin," he added.
The five-man group is composed of Azurin, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, former Defense chief Gibo Teodoro, Office of the Presidential Adviser on Military Affairs (OPAMA) Undersecretary for Police Affairs Isagani Nerez, and retired associate Justice Melchor Quirino Cabarroguis Sadang.
Interior Secretary Benjamin 'Benhur' Abalos earlier said 954 PNP generals and full colonels have submitted their courtesy resignation.
