Azkals continue training in Doha
by Kristan Carag04 June 2021
The Philippine national men's football team will remain in Doha, Qatar.
The Philippine Azkals decided to forego flying to China after the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) moved the venue for the team's remaining qualifying matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 Asian Cup.
AFC earlier announced on Tuesday, June 1, that the Philippines will play its games at the Sharjah Stadium in the United Arab Emirates rather than in China.
Azkals team manager Dan Palami said that the national team will continue their preparations at a training bubble in Doha, and that the recent developments will allow the Azkals to get more training time before the upcoming games.
