The Philippine Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) found five persons of interest among the 160 foreign nationals rescued in a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub and scam farm in Porac, Pampanga.
PAOCC spokesperson Winston John Casio identified the persons of interest as four managers and a 'taga-bugbog' (tormenter).
Authorities raided the Lucky South 99 compound on Tuesday, June 4, due to a search warrant issued by a court in Malolos City, Bulacan over reports of human trafficking, torture activities, and scamming operations within the facilities.
PAOCC halted the raid after the judge withdrew the initial search warrant but resumed on Saturday, June 8, after authorities obtained a new warrant.
PAOCC expected to find more than 1,000 foreign nationals in the POGO hub but Casio suspects that a leak allowed most of them to escape and evade the authorities.
Casio admitted that authorities did not find the 'big bosses' or the individuals subject to the search warrant.
"Yung big bosses behind it ay hindi namin naabutan, yung mga subject sa warrant natin ay hindi natin inabutan pero ang na-identify pa lang natin ay yung apat na managers at saka isang taga-bugbog," Casio said on Sunday, June 9, during DZRH Stories: Pinoy Documentaries.
