Approximately 100 families, unfortunately, slept on the streets of Pasay City following the demolition that occurred on FB Harrison on Thursday.
According to RH Jecelle Ricafort's report, among those who slept on the streets were children and babies.
Residents have reported that they have not yet received any assistance from the City Hall or the barangay.
Wala hong tulong sa amin na galing sa barangay o City Hall man lang," said Marichu Embay, one of the evicted residents.
Embay said that they have no means to rent a house and are therefore seeking assistance from the local government.
Regarding the alleged 15,000 pesos claimed by the barangay
Embay claimed she saw several documents indicating that their barangay council had secured 15,000 pesos from the private company that purchased the land where the residents lived.
She alleged that 15,000 of the 50,000 pesos intended for the residents was stolen by the barangay.
Meanwhile, Barangay Captain Eduardo Cruz refuted the claim and said that residents had actually complained to the barangay about the private company's negotiations.
Embay mentioned that their alleged investigation found no owner of the place where their house was located and no title for the property.
