The Rain or Shine Elastopainters failed to ride the momentum and seize back-to-back wins in the 2023 William Jones Cup in Taiwan.
The Elastopainters, the representatives of the Philippines in the tournament, fell to Korean basketball squad Anyang KGC, 87-77, on Thursday, August 17, at the Taipei Heping Gymnasium.
Andrei Caracut scored 19 points and Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player Ange Kouame registered 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Elastopainters which currently has one win and four losses in the competition.
Anyang, the defending champions of the Korean Basketball League, never looked back after ending the first quarter with a 13-point advantage, 28-15.
Ji Hoon Park chipped in 25 points, and former PBA import Du'Vaughn Maxwell added 15 points as they led Anyang to the fourth win of the Korean squad in five outings.
Rain or Shine will take a break on Friday, August 18, and the campaign of the PBA team will resume on Saturday, August 19, against the under-22 squad of Japan.
