AFP spokesperson elaborates ‘mag-behave’ statement to CCG

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has told China Coast Guard (CCG) to ‘behave’ following its ‘dangerous and aggressive’ attack on Philippine Coast Guard’s (PCG) vessels on August 5.

In an interview with Edniel Parrosa on DZRH Stories, AFP spokesperson Medel Aguilar was asked about his "mag-behave" statement to the CCG.

He emphasized the harassment that China has been doing to the PCG, such as using a "military grade" laser light and water cannoning to scuttle a resupply mission to a disputed shoal in the South China Sea.

Aguilar said that the AFP will monitor China’s behavior, which he emphasized is not good for the Philippines as it will also affect fishermen.

Kailangan natin itong ipaglaban," he said.

The AFP spox then discussed first the importance of having BRP Sierra Madre grounded in Ayun Shoal.

According to the AFP spokesperson, China should be reminded that the whole world can see their actions, and whatever might happen, they will be blamed by the authorities higher than them [CCG].

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) earlier condemned the China Coast Guard's (CCG) 'illegal' and 'dangerous' use of water cannon against PCG vessels that were escorting the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during a resupply mission on August 5.
