Filipino basketbal player Rhenz Abando turned down plans to take legal action against Chinanu Onuaku of Korean Basketball League team Goyang Sono.

Abando confirmed on Tuesday, January 23, that his camp will no longer file a civil lawsuit against the American import over the in-game collision that caused the Filipino basketball player to suffer injuries at the head, writst, and the spine.

The 25-year old player of the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters even downplayed the incident as an "accident", and doubts that Onuaku wanted to cause injuries.

"Siguro accident lang iyon," Abando, told reporters in a press conference.

Abando and other members of the Red Boosters flew to the Philippines for their upcoming game against TNT Tropang Giga in the East Asia Super League.

However, while present, Abando will not suit up for the game at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Wednesday, January 24, since he still needs to recuperate from his injuries.

KBL imposed a fine of ₩ 3 million against Onuaku for his involvement in the collision.
