A family of seven were killed in a landslide in Brgy. Mt. Diwata, Monkayo, Davao de Oro amidst the continuous rains induced by the shear line, an Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Davao official confirmed on Thursday, January 18.

Interviewed during DZRH Balansyado, OCD Davao director Ednar Dayanghirang said the landslide occurred while the family was holding a prayer meeting with fellow members of their religious organization.

"Pito ang patay. Dalawa ang critically wounded, isang bata at isang adult. Isang one year old then dalawang adults tapos apat na bata ang namatay," he said.

"Kasalukuyan silang nagdadasal doon, religious activity, grupo ng isang organization at doon na sila inabot ng pagguho ng lupa. Hindi pa identified yung iba, pero they are considered as one family," Dayanghirang added.
