A total of 114 million mobile users successfully registered their Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) on July 31, the final deadline for SIM registration, according to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
In its latest data, NTC said the 114 million SIMs registered is 68 percent of the 168 million total number of SIM card holders in the country.
Of this number, DITO Telecommunity has recorded a total of 7,740,346 SIMs registered which is 51.72 percent of its subscriber base.
Meanwhile, Globe has 53,727,798 SIM cards registered, or an estimated 61.94 percent of the company's subscriber base.
SMART, on the other hand, reached 52,500,870, equivalent to 79.18 percent of the total number of subscribers of 66,304,761.
Earlier, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) said it aims to register 70 percent of the total subscriber base to validate the legitimacy of SIM card users.
The SIM Card Registration was supposed to expire last July 25 but DICT has allocated a five-day grace period for SIM holders.
DICT Secretary Ivan Uy earlier maintained that no further extensions would be granted.
