The Philippine Navy monitored around 55 Chinese vessels on Monday, April 15, in the West Philippine Sea.
During a press briefing in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, Commodore Roy Vincent Trinidad, Philippine Navy spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea said that the spotted vessels include two China Coast Guard ships and 24 Chinese maritime militia vessels around Bajo De Masinloc.
The Philippine Navy also monitored a Chinese Coast Guard vessel, and five Chinese fishing boats in Ayungin Shoal.
Trinidad added that the Philippine Navy also monitored Chinese vessels near Pagasa Island, Panata Island, and Lawak Island.
"Their activities have been varied. Some of them would be lying or stationary. Others would be moving, doing patrols," Trinidad said during the press briefing.
