Five individuals were killed, and nine others sustained injuries in a vehicular accident in Ampawilen, Poblacion, Sadanga, Mountain Province, on April 4.

The Sadanga Municipal Police Station (MPS) reported that the accident took place around 10:00 PM when a white Nissan van, bearing plate number NDA 9883, veered off the road, fell from a cliff about 50 meters high, and landed in the river.

Moreover, three males and two females were declared dead at the scene of the accident, while the injured victims were promptly taken to Bontoc General Hospital in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

Responding to the accident were the Sadanga MPS, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), local government unit (LGU), and nearby community residents.

The PNP has reminded the public to follow safe travel tips in order to prevent any untoward incidents.
