About forty-eight individuals have died due to Severe Tropical Storm 'Paeng’ as reported by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Aside from the death toll, there are 40 injured and 22 are missing. Part of the death toll is in Bicol Region but majority of it is in Maguindanao, according to NDRRMC Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Raffy Alejandro.
In an interview with DZRH's Ito ang Pilipinas, Alejandro said the affected number of individuals across the country are now at 932,077 and 277,383 families while 363,933 persons and 132,913 families are in the evacuation center.
There are 40,319 individuals who were evacuated before the storm hit the land, he added.
The numbers may still rise and change when update reports are sent to the NDRRMC, he explained.
Meanwhile, he also reported that there are 379 areas that are still submerged in the flood, while 47 roads and 53 bridges are not passable. 714 houses were damaged at the same time Regions 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 12, CALABARZON and Mimaropa are experiencing power interruption, he mentioned.
