

At least four victims from the recent mishap in a church in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan remained in incritical condition, the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) said Thursday.
According to CDRRMO head Gina Ayson, among the victims in critical condition are an 82-year-old suffering from multiple fractures, a 70-year-old with a leg fracture, a 64-year-old experiencing hypertension, and a 49-year-old with a wrist fracture who needs surgery.
A portion of the second floor of the St. Peter Parish Church collapsed on Wednesday morning, February 14 during a mass for Ash Wednesday.
This has resulted in the death of an 80-year-old parishioner and injured 52 people who were immediately rushed to hospitals for treatment.
In an interview, church parish priest Romulo Perez, the collapsed portion of the church was due to a weak wooden foundation that was already rotting.
The collapsed portion of the church was an extension built 30 years ago.
