The incident happened on Wednesday morning during a mass for Ash Wednesday when the extension portion of the said church collapsed.
According to the church parish priest, Romulo Perez, the collapsed portion of the church was due to a weak wooden foundation that was already rotting.
Churchgoers were immediately sent to clinics and hospitals after the incident.
Mayor Robes advised the churchgoers to attend some other church while waiting for the engineer's office assessment.
