Nearly 3,900 cops will be deployed by the Southern Police District for this Holy Week, according to the Southern Police District.
Earlier, the SPD mentioned it would have 815 officers assigned to different areas, including transportation hubs, major thoroughfares, and places of convergence.
The SPD revised its plans and increased its Lenten week personnel to 3,868 for people's security from April 2 to 9.
It will serve the following Metro Manila communities: Muntinlupa, Taguig, Pateros, Pasay, Makati, Paranaque, and Las Pias. It will send 307 police officers to the seven areas to secure 82 places of worship.
To ensure the smooth flow of traffic, 151 SPD personnel will man 19 major thoroughfares under its jurisdiction, including the Nichols Interchange.
In addition, 173 police officers have been assigned to 28 transportation hubs and terminals.
A total of 1,229 police officers have been assigned to points of convergence, such as malls, within the SPD area.
During Holy Week, nine one-stop-shop help desks in the SPD are manned by 46 personnel to provide police assistance and respond quickly to any security concerns.
There will be 142 checkpoints, 610 mobile patrols, 133 fixed visibility points, and 883 SPD personnel on beat patrol.
