In three separate operations over the course of two days, authorities in Cebu Province arrested three drug suspects and seized more than PHP 16 million in suspected shabu.

On Thursday, the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) conducted an anti-drug sting operation in Purok Orange, Barangay Lawaan, Talisay City, which resulted in the arrest of Roque Damos, 40, of Barangay Guadalupe in this city.

According to PIU chief Lt. Col. Mark Lester Eteroza, Damos yielded 500 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP3.4 million.

On Wednesday morning, operatives in Cebu City apprehended a 19-year-old suspect inside a cemetery in Barangay Lorega. Police seized 835 grams of suspected shabu, valued at PHP5.6 million, from him.

Around 7:30 p.m., on the same day, a joint operation was launched at Sitio Seabreeze, Barangay Pusok in Lapu-Lapu City, and Ramelo Aguitong, 41, a native of Dalaguete, Cebu, was apprehended.

More than a kilo of shabu worth PHP7.1 million was seized from Aquitong.

The suspects are facing criminal charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
