The Philippine Red Cross on Thursday said that its medical team and volunteers have assisted a total of 1,051 individuals, with 679 of them given blood pressure consultation during the parade of the Black Nazarene on Thursday, January 9. In a Facebook post, the team noted that they also provided first aid to 291 patients, who suffered from dizziness, shortness of breath, elevated blood pressure, abrasion, laceration, and sprain. Also, 26 patients with minor medical cases were treated on-site and 14 patients were safely transported to Ospital ng Maynila and Jose Reyes Memorial medical center due to hypertension, fracture, dislocation, fainting, loss of consciousness. The image of the Black Nazarene has safely returned to the Quiapo church before 9:00 PM on Thursday, after more than 16 hours since it started t the Quirino Grandstand before sunrise. The Manila PIO recorded at least 251 people were injured in the procession of the image of the Black Nazarene as of 6 pm on Thursday.
