Fans of the Filipino pop group SB19 have rallied together to demand respect for local artists following an incident involving popular It's Showtime hosts Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis.

In one of their episodes, the hosts expressed their disappointment after discovering that they were no longer allowed to play SB19's hit song "Gento" on the show without payment.

The incident took place on June 10, 2023, during Its Showtime's "Isip Bata" segment when a contestant challenged Jhong Hilario to dance to the viral TikTok song "Gento."

Jhong was prepared to take on the challenge, but the show's staff informed him that playing the song was now "prohibited" as it required payment.

The unexpected prohibition surprised Vice and Anne, as they had previously played "Gento" multiple times on the show without any issues.

"Bawal, naniningil na sila, naniningil na. Yung 'Rampa' libre, ayaw niyong itry?" Vice jokingly remarked.

Anne also expressed her surprise, saying, ""Talaga? Hindi ba good promo yon for the music industry? May ganon na pala, sayang."

The reactions of Vice and Anne did not sit well with SB19 fans and numerous netizens.
