The founder of the Maginhawa community pantry Patreng Non sees the appointment of Cavite 7th District Rep. Boying Remulla as the next justice secretary to be "very uncomfortable," recalling the time when the latter red-tagged the initiative she pioneered amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Remulla has been tapped by presumptive president Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to lead the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Non noted that community pantries started as a "movement of love and kindness to help people amid the COVID-19 crisis yet Remulla threw baseless accusations against the initiative. This has prompted Non and other community pantry organizers to temporarily suspend their operations in fear for their lives.
