Six suspects, who were allegedly behind the killing of third-year Adamson University student John Matthew Salilig, have been arrested and brought to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for inquest proceedings on Thursday morning, March 2.

Biñan City Police Station (CPS) has filed anti-hazing charges before the DOJ against the six suspects who are all members of the fraternity group Tau Gamma Phi (Triskelion).

According to Biñan CPS Chief Lt. Col. Virgilio Jopia, of the six suspects, one individual made an extrajudicial confession while the other was the one who gave the exact location of Salilig's body.

Apart from the six, Police authorities also arrested the father of one of the suspects who refused to be served with the search warrant.

According to Jopia, all suspects will be under the custody of Biñan, Laguna Police.

Meanwhile, another suspect identified as Daniel Perry, voluntarily surrendered to Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla on Thursday afternoon.

"Nagsabi siya sa Vice Mayor namin sa Isabela na gusto niya mag-surrender sa akin. Tinawagan ko si General Laso at pinakausapan na sa kaniya i-surrender dahil 'yung bata ay natatakot at nanganganib sa buhay niya dahil lumaki nang lumaki ang insidente at nakonensya na rin kaya lumapit na rin siya," he told reporters in an interview.

According to Remulla, the suspect admitted that he is among the persons who buried Salilig, and said they have been hiding for 10 days.
