More than two kilograms of shabu was found inside an abandoned suitcase at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported on Wednesday, May 17.

In a press release, BOC said the 2.846 shabu, which has an estimated value of ₱19.35 million, was found inside the luggage after undergoing an x-ray machine, K9 sniffing, and physical examination.

It said that the luggage belongs to a Ugandan national passenger who arrived in the country through Ethiopian Airlines flight number ET628 and Philippine Airlines flight number PR 737.

According to BOC, the Ugandan passenger may face possible charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Drug Act, and RA 10863, also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
