The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has asked the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) to investigate the cyberattack against the bureau's external cloud-based online applications.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, BOC said the breach in its external cloud-based online applications was monitored last Sunday, April 7.

"The incident was immediately reported to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC). The bureau has also sought the expertise of the DICT and CICC to help the agency thoroughly investigate the incident," it said.

Security measures like locking all compromised accounts and server was immediately implemented also.

According to the bureau's initial investigation, information such as name; email address; company name; contact details; and Tax Identification Number were compromised.

It advises the public to change the password of their login credentials and report any suspicious activity on their account.
