The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Wednesday, March 27, seized ₱20 million worth of shabu disguised as health supplements at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The investigation revealed that the transparent plastic pouches with “whey protein” on its label contain methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu.

The authorities have filed a criminal case against the shipment’s claimant for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

“The seizure is part of an ongoing operation to further fortify the country’s borders against the entry of illegal drugs,” NAIA District Collector Yasmin Mapa said.
