The issue caused a stir on social media, with users flocking to Facebook and Twitter to voice their complaints.
So, apparently all my media files and links have been wiped out from Facebook Messenger when the app was down the other day. Check your media, files and link folder on your Messenger to see if previously shared images are still there. Mine is gone 🤷🏻♂️

According to a report, the glitch was most prevalent in the country, leaving users unable to access their message history.
However, while files and links may have disappeared temporarily, users could still chat and share content through DMs and GCs. It was inconvenient, though, having to backread manually just to see previously shared photos and videos.
Facebook has yet to release an official statement about the glitch, but users can take proactive measures to prevent future issues. Regularly backing up files, updating the Messenger app, and using alternative messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram can help.
Fortunately, the links, media, and files that were previously inaccessible have now been restored and are once again available to users.
