Facebook has restored the account of Atty. Vic Rodriguez, spokesperson of presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr., after it was suspended on Monday.

Facebook's parent company Meta explained that the suspension of Rodriguez's account was "mistakenly restricted" but not due to its posted content.

Rodriguez previously claimed that the suspension was because he is "for Bongbong Marcos," slamming the incident as "digital terrorism" and interference with a sovereign act.

On his account's restoration, Rodriguez extended his gratitude to the media, lawmakers, influences, and other personalities who stood behind his "cause against Meta's suspension" of his account.

"Indeed, we shall allow no usurper to trample upon this basic Filipino right, inked by the very blood of our forefathers and scribed in the national soul," he said in a statement.

"Let this unanimous howl of protest serve as a warning to those who mistakenly think Filipinos will simply take sitting down abuses that tend to suppress this very foundation of our hard-earned democracy."
