Senator President Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri expressed his dismay over his fellow senators who voted to replace him in his position as Senate President.

In a press conference on Monday, Zubiri said he has hard feelings for his fellow Senators, whom he thought would support him.

"Medyo masama ang loob ko dahil mayroon pang mga nagtetext sa akin, we are with you; support mo kami; 100 percent sayo," said Zubiri.

"Ang hirap talaga maging politiko—aalam mo sa totoo lang ang hirap maging politiko, kaya ako'y tuwang tuwa sa mga nang-iwan sakin, alam mo true test of character 'yan," he added.

The former Senate president noted that he's not hurt by his removal from his post; instead, he was hurt by his fellow Senators who thought he would be with him, adding that most of them had the same ideals as him.

"Sa akin, hindi ko magagawa yun. Ako at least isang salita lang pagdating sa commitment ko," the senator said.

"If felt heartbroken not because of the position. Tatlong beses na akong naging majority floor leader, tinanggal na rin ako maging majority floor leader, hindi sa posisyon. I'm heartbroken because of those who committed steadfastly with us with the same ideals and all of a sudden biglang nawala po," he added.

Zubiri said several Senators probably have anger with him due to several issues in the Senate, such as the People's Initiative, which he said implied strict adherence to the Senate's independence.

His independency stance, according to Zubiri, has "crossed the board."

Meanwhile, Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero was newly assigned to lead the Senate, as proposed by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.

Escudero was duly voted as the chamber's new chief by the 24 members, without opposition.
