Far Far Away’s swampy family is introducing a new feisty character for the fifth installment of Universal Pictures and DreamWorks’ “Shrek” franchise!
On Friday, Universal Pictures unveiled the official trailer for “Shrek 5,” alongside the voice cast for the upcoming sequel. The trailer shows Shrek and Donkey asking the Magic Mirror, “Who’s the fairest of them all?”
Surprisingly, the franchise seemed to have adopted the modern and Gen Z-inspired trends and culture, showing photos and videos of Shrek with filters and flexing his abs. As the two scream in horror, the camera pans to Fiona, Pinocchio, and their teenage daughter, Felicia, who is voiced by Zendaya!
The highly anticipated “Shrek 5” will feature the returning voice cast members Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Fiona), and Eddie Murphy (Donkey). Towards the end of the trailer, they revealed that Zendaya will lend her voice as the Ogre couple’s teenage daughter Felicia.
In “Shrek the Third,” the couple’s children were introduced as newborns.
To make the announcement official, Shrek’s official Instagram account posted a screenshot of Zendaya’s 2017 X (formerly Twitter) post stating, “I watch Shrek too often in my adulthood.”
The post poked fun at the post, saying that it had aged well.

The Hollywood actress is booked with projects this year, with numerous projects lined up like the third season of “Euphoria” and “Dune: Messiah.” She is also set to appear in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” alongside her real-life partner Tom Holland.
“Shrek 5” will premiere in theaters on December 23, 2026.
