Acting Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. confirmed that high-profile fugitive Zaldy Co remains outside the country, with authorities actively coordinating his repatriation through Interpol.
In an interview on DZRH’s Dos Por Dos, Nartatez said that Co has an existing notice for immediate repatriation and that the PNP is closely working with international authorities to ensure his arrest once he returns to Philippine jurisdiction.
“As of now, he's out of the country at nakatutok po tayo sa sa pag-coordinate sa Interpol kung saan meron na po siyang notice for his immediate repatriation at para makuha natin siya sa Philippine National Police,” Nartatez said.
When asked about Co’s location, the PNP chief said authorities believe he is somewhere in Europe, though his exact whereabouts remain unknown.
“Ang pagpakaalam ko nasa Europe. Hindi po natin alam kung saan po sa Europe,” Nartatez added.
Nartatez also warned that fleeing abroad does not guarantee evasion from justice. “Not everyone who hides will be able to escape the law forever. In the coming days, he will be apprehended,” he said.
Authorities noted that the Philippines has police attachés in various countries, which facilitates coordination with local law enforcement and Interpol.
