Bazinga! We will all bid our farewell to the mighty little man, Shelly and his quirky little family soon.

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, American TV network CBS announced that the television series “Young Sheldon” will conclude with its seventh and final season.

"As a prequel to one of the biggest comedies, 'Young Sheldon' proved lightning can strike twice. We look forward to seeing their final season unfold and giving it a proper sendoff with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy,” CBS President Amy Reichenbach said in a brief statement published by American media outlets.

She extended her sincere gratitude to executive producers namely, Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro, and Steve Holland as well as the writing and producing team “for six wonderful seasons.”

“We look forward to seeing their final season unfold and giving it a proper send off with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy,” Reichenbach added.

In a Facebook post, American actor Iain Armitage, who plays Sheldon, conveyed his love for his "Young Sheldon" castmates and crew who he consider his family.

“In case you wondered, I love my family. There’s about 200 more people who make @youngsheldoncbs happen and I’m grateful for each of them. We will make the best 7th season we can possibly make- and behind the scenes there will be lots of laughter and lots of tears because I love all of these people so much,” he captioned.

According to CBS, the seventh season will have a total of 14 episodes.

The first episode will air on February 15, 2024, while the one-hour long finale episode will premiere on May 16, 2024.

“Young Sheldon”, a prequel to the popular sitcom “Big Bang Theory”, focuses on the younger years of socially awkward physicist Sheldon Cooper and his family — Mary, George Sr., Meemaw, George Jr., and Missy in their little home in Texas.
