A woman caught driving without a license was arrested after assaulting a Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) officer along Osmeña Highway in Malate, Manila on Thursday, May 27.

An initial report from the MTPB identified as Pauline Mae Salamero, 26, from Calamba, Laguna.

Salamero was initially flagged down by MTPB enforcer Marcos Meneses on Osmeña Highway corner San Andres St. for disregarding traffic signs past 8 AM.

However, she continued driving which prompted the traffic enforcers to chase her. When she was stopped, the enforcers learned that Salamero doesn't have a driver's license but instead presented a copy of her OR/CR.

When she was instructed by the officers to follow them to the impounding area, she refused and began to assault them.

In a video shared by MTPB chief Wilson Chan, Salamero can be seen hitting, cursing, and grabbing Meneses by his uniform.

Salamero has been charged for violation of Section 19 of RA 4136, Article 148 (Direct Assault), and Article 151 (Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority of the Agent of Such Person) of the Revised Penal Code.
