A corpse of a woman was reportedly found inside a box near a subdivision in Brgy. Tisa, Cebu City on Monday, July 17.
Residents and passersby thought it was just another box discarded on the street, not until a street sweeper arrived at around 1 p.m. to take it off and was shocked that there was body inside the box.
The street sweeper reported the incident to Punta Princesa Police Station (Station 10), and was later confirmed that the body belonged to a woman.
The victim was wrapped in a white blanket, and her face were hardly recognized.
Her arms were said to be tied with rubber and aluminum wire, in what looked like another case of "salvage killing".
Major Angelito Valleser, chief of the Labangon Police Station, appealed to the public who had missing family members to see if they could help identify her.
The woman, according to Valleser, appeared to be in her 30s and was dressed in black shorts and a white hooded jacket.
He claimed that they were unable to identify the tattoo that was on her left hand.
The police chief stated that identifying the body is their primary priority.
They can only start the probe after that, he said.
