Comedian and TV host Willie Revillame has formally endorsed Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for vice president.
During a live episode of his Wowowin variety show at the Cebu City Sports Center on Friday night, Revillame introduced Duterte as the "ilaw ng tahanan."
He then sings praises for Duterte-Carpio, saying she is the public servant the country needs.
"Inday Sara ang siyang kailangan ng bayan/ ang siyang magbibigay ng saya, ng ngiting kay tamis sa kanino man/ Inday Sara ang siyang ilaw ng tahanan/ sa piling mo, matatagpuan bukas na kay ganda sa ating bayan/ Sara, ikaw na nga (Inday Sara is who the country needs/ she's the one who will bring happiness and smiles to anyone/ Inday Sara is the light of the home/ with you, a good future will be found in our country/ Sara, you are the one)," he serenaded the presidential daughter, referencing to his signature song "Ikaw Na Nga."
After his performance, Revillame vowed to help Duterte-Carpio in her candidacy.
"Magiging tulay ako ng bawat Pilipinong nangangailangan ng tulong," Revillame said.
[I will serve as the bridge of every Filipino that would need help.]
"Basta ma'am Sara, kung anong maitutulong namin sa yo, kung anong maitutulong ko sa yo, kung kailangan mo ako, walang kabayaran, wala. Ang gusto ko lang ang ngiti sa mga labi ng ating kababayan," he added.
[Ma'am Sara, whatever help you may need from us, whatever help I can give you, if you need me, you need not pay, nothing. All I want is to see the smiles on our countrymen's faces.]
Duterte is running along with presidential frontrunner former senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. under the UniTeam alliance.
