Inclusivity is timeless, as proved by a recent revival of a Lola Nena’s job advertisement.
The posting, calling for a baker, a front-of-house barista, cashier, and kitchen staff, welcomes applicants of all ages, genders, educational attainment, and appearance.
“Age? It doesn’t define you. Education? Passion for food and people is our priority. Math skills? We’ll teach you what you need to know. Gender? All are welcome,” the ad read.
“Appearance? Your warmth and authenticity shine the brightest. Communications? Respect and kindness are our languages. Love for people? Absolutely essential.”
A user commenting on the viral social media post said, “Lola Nena’s upholding true high standards. Salute!”
Another compared the ad’s inclusive qualifications to those of other implicitly unreasonable companies.
A few mentioned Potato Corner, presumably alluding to a hiring ad it released years back.
This Lola Nena’s ad, which first made rounds on the web in August of 2023, was released as a corrective ad to an earlier one posted by Potato Corner. Netizens railed against the fries franchise hiring ad, which required applicants to “have a good visual impact,” their “weight must be proportionate to height,” “have clear complexion, eyesight and good set of teeth.”
Shortly after, Potato Corner came forward with an apology for their “embarrassing moment.”
