The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has launched a website to aid vehicle owners in tracking their new license plates, addressing the issue of over a million unclaimed replacement plates.
Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista shared in a televised interview that the website can be accessed by inputting the plate number to determine its current location.
“We prepared a [website] that can be accessed by those who have not received the replacement plates and by just inputting their plate number malalaman nila kung nasaan s’ya,” said the official.
The website is accessible through https://ltoplatereplacement.com/.
Prior to this, the Commission on Audit (COA) reported that around 1.79 million pairs of license plates, amounting to P800 million, have not been claimed at the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Plate delivery begins
In a recent interview with DZRH, Atty. Vigor Mendoza, the newly appointed Assistant Secretary of the Land Transportation Office, mentioned that the delivery of driver's licenses has already begun.

Additionally, there are still 1.8 million unclaimed plates within the LTO, and they aim to release them within 60 days.
To address the issue, they plan to use social media as a means to remind those who have yet to claim their plates.
