South Korean girl group Red Velvet has successfully made their comeback with the release of their new mini album “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday” along with the music video for the title track on Monday, Nov. 28.
"Birthday” is a pop dance song that sings about making a confident confession and gifting an unforgettable day to the person they like by making all their birthday wishes come true. The song has a sampling from George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue."
As of writing, the music video has now over 3.5 million views on YouTube.
“The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday” is the second album in Red Velvet’s “The ReVe Festival 2022” series, and has a total of five tracks including the title track “Birthday” with “BYE BYE,” “On A Ride,” “ZOOM,” and “Celebrate.”
Prior to its release, Red Velvet set personal milestones with its new album after it reached its highest number of stock pre-orders with a grand total of 712,187.
The latest accomplishment breaks the group’s previous stock pre-order record of 516,866, which they achieved with their last release “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm.”
Debuted in 2014, Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri have since released hit songs such as Dumb Dumb, Red Flavor, Russian Roulette, Bad Boy, and Psycho.
They last visited the Philippines in July for the concert, “Be You: The World Will Adjust.”
