If the Earth’s end is due in a few months, what will you do?

Netflix’s upcoming apocalyptic animated series “Carol & The End of The World” revolves around the same question, with its protagonist Carol grappling with the world’s imminent end and her alarming indifference to the entire circumstance.

“With a mysterious planet hurtling towards Earth, extinction is imminent for the people of the world. While most feel liberated to pursue their wildest dreams, one quiet and always uncomfortable woman stands alone — lost among the hedonistic masses,” the logline read.

In a nearly 3-minute video, the trailer follows Carol Daphne Kohl, who wakes up to the news that the Earth will clash with another planet bigger than ours, bringing the countdown of life down to seven months and 13 days. With the entire population searching for meaning in a short time, Carol feels lost in a loop.

But as days pass, Carols gets a grip on her senses, stating, "Sometimes you just gotta give things time to be lost before they can be found.”

The promising trailer of “Carol & The End of The World” exhibits the hope of embracing life but also shows the finality of it—the one thing humans could never run away from.

As the few seconds of the trailer flash to a montage of Carol (and the people around her) trying to make sense of the end and move toward acceptance, maybe it would be alright.

“Carol & The End of The World” is set to premiere on the streaming behemoth on December 15.
