Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray on Monday announced her support for the presidential and vice-presidential bids of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis Pangilinan, respectively.
In her latest vlog entitled "Pinuno: Para sa Bayan" posted on YouTube, the beauty queen revealed how she would shy away from the topic of politics in the past.
"But as I acknowledge, I am also a Filipino with a platform and with that, I feel a sense of responsibility. You know it's my hope through sharing how I equipped myself, I can then turn, hopefully, equip you in the upcoming elections," Gray said.
Catriona then enumerated the qualities of a good leader in which they should be qualified (educational attainment and employment background), history (achievements and developments), service (how they work for our best interest and programs they pursued), platform (plans and vision for our nation); and values (how the leader stood on issues).
Towards the end of her video, she then revealed her decision to vote for the tandem of Robredo and Pangilinan in the upcoming May polls.
"My vote for Vice President is Kiko Pangilinan and my choice for President is Leni Robredo," Gray said.
"She is the only candidate that experienced all three branches of our government: Judiciary as a volunteer lawyer, Legislative as a congresswoman, and Executive as a Vice President," she added.
With Gray's announcement, she now joins the long list of celebrities who have extended their support to the Leni-Kiko tandem.
Among those who have publicly expressed their support include Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Anne Curtis, Piolo Pascual, Angel Locsin, Kris Aquino, Daniel Padilla, Nadine Lustre, Julia Barretto, Melai Cantiveros, Ely Buendia, Donny Pangilinan, and Ben&Ben among others.
