Netflix dropped the official trailer of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” on Wednesday, January 23, marking the return of the animated Nickelodeon series to a live-action adaptation.

The two-minute trailer serves as an introduction to the adaptation’s characters and how Aang (Gordon Cormier), the young Avatar, is set to save the world from the Fire Nation while showing a glimpse of the characters bending in action.

“Avatar: The Last Airbender” follows Aang as he masters the four elements (Water, Fire, Earth, and Air) to balance a world plagued by the monstrous antics of the Fire Nation.

Together with Aang in this quest toward the world’s balance and peace is his group of friends from the Water tribe Katara and Sokka along with other characters they’ll meet along the way.

“But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko determined to capture them, it won’t be an easy task. They’ll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way,” the adaptation’s logline reads.

Cormier will be joined by Kiawentiio as waterbender Katara, Ian Ousley as Katara’s brother, Sokka, Dallas Liu as firebending royalty, Zuko, Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Elizabeth Yu as Azula, and Ken Leung as Commander Zhao.

The live-action adaptation will premiere on the streaming platform on February 22.
