Universal Pictures on Monday, February 12, dropped the first look of “Wicked” based on the hit Broadway musical of the same name.

The one-minute teaser follows the untold story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), the witch in The Wizard of Oz, as an often misunderstood young woman due to her green skin.

“Wicked” revolves around the friendship of Elphaba discovering her true power and Glinda (Ariana Grande) discovering her true heart.

“Glinda's unflinching desire for popularity sees her seduced by power, while Elphaba's determination to remain true to herself, and to those around her, will have unexpected and shocking consequences on her future,” its logline read.

“Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfill their destinies as Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West,” it added.

Joining Erivo and Grande in the adaptation are Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, and Jeff Goldblum.

“Wicked” is divided into two movies with the first part slated to hit theaters on November 24, 2024, and the second movie on November 26 next year.
