The “Mean Girls” cast recreated their iconic scenes for an American hypermarket Black Friday commercial.
The original cast members reprise their roles with Lindsay Lohan being a guidance counselor at North Shore High School, Amanda Seyfried as Karen as a reporter, and Lacey Chabert as Gretchen working as a full-time mom to her daughter.
From Karen’s reportage, Cady saying “grool”, and Gretchen being hung up on the word “fetch” (which she’d been told countless times that wasn’t going to happen) to the “Jingle Bell Rock” dance, the Walmard ad was brimming with “Mean Girls” reference that audience looked back on since its release in 2004.
The Walmart ad was part of their campaign to bolster holiday deals ahead of Black Friday, beginning on Wednesday, November 8, referencing a “Mean Girls” saying, “On Wednesdays, we wear pink!”
“It was so nice being back together after all these years. It was great catching up with everyone," Lohan said in a PEOPLE report.
“It was wonderful to spend the day with Amanda and Lindsay, and it was so much fun getting to reminisce and be together again,” Chabert added.
But the infamous queen bee Regina George, played by Rachel McAdams, was missing from the commercial.
A Page Six report claimed that McAdams did not want to do it.
“They were all offered it. But the three of them loved being together for their reunion. They had a great time talking about being moms, and it was definitely a loss not having Rachel there,” a source told the media outlet.
