Sony Pictures dropped the official trailer of “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” featuring cross-generational teamwork in their bid to unravel ancient mysteries and defeat a swarm of entities threatening the reign of a chilling bulwark.

“In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level,” the synopsis read.

“But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age,” it added.

The two-minute trailer follows the succeeding generation of Spenglers (Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, and Paul Rudd) team-up with the original Ghostbusters (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts) whose unearthing of an ancient ruin releases an evil force.

Together, both old and new generations battle the ghosts and prevent their reign to a future Ice Age.

“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” is a sequel to 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” an addition to the paranormal comedy classic. It is set to hit theaters on March 22.
