The Manila Police District (MPD) considered the first Walk of Faith as 'generally peaceful' after an orderly and organized event with no reports of criminality.
"Generally peaceful po ang naging Walk of Faith natin," MPD top cop PBGen Andre Dizon said in an interview with DZRH.
He also underlined that there were no untoward incidents of criminality as devotees cooperated, only reporting medical attention including hypertension.
"Wala po [untoward incident] in terms of criminality.
Dizon expects the continued success of the celebration until Monday, January 9.
"We are hoping na hanggang bukas ay ganito pa rin kapayapaan at ka-organize," he said.
In an interview of DZRH with a 45-year-old devotee, she also felt the success of the Feast of Black Nazarene as it was more successful than the past celebrations.
She also said that other devotees were not aware that the Black Nazarene was already in the Quirino Grandstand which caused a small crowd.
