Several areas in the country, particularly in Metro Manila, have suspended classes on Wednesday, August 28, due to inclement weather conditions.
Here is the list of areas that have declared class suspensions:
- Malabon City - all levels, public and private
- Quezon City - all levels, public and private
- Taytay, Rizal - Kinder to Grade 12 including ALS, public and private
- Caloocan, City - all levels, public and private
- Manila City - all levels, public and private
- Navotas City - all levels, public and private
- Marikina City - all levels, public and private
- Pasig City - all levels, public and private
- San Juan City - all levels, public and private
- Pateros - all levels, public and private
- Taguig City - all levels, public and private
- Pasay City - all levels, public and private
- Mandaluyong City - all levels, public and private
- Las Piñas City - all levels, public and private
- Parañaque City - all levels, public and private
- Muntinlupa City - all levels, public and private
- Valenzuela City - all levels, public and private
According to PAGASA's weather forecast, the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat is affecting Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas.
Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and Antique will experience occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon.
La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, the Bicol Region, and the rest of Visayas, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, also caused by the southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
