#WalangPasok: Vog from Taal volcano prompts class suspensions in several areas on Tuesday

Due to the ongoing release of volcanic smog from Taal Volcano, several areas across the country have announced the suspension of classes for Tuesday, August 20.
The following areas have suspended classes:
- Lubang, Occidental Mindoro: All levels; public and private
- San Pedro, Laguna: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Agoncillo, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Taal, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Bauan, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Malvar, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- San Nicolas, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- San Luis, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Balete, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Noveleta, Cavite: All levels; public and private
- Laguna City: All levels; public and private, with modular and online learning to be employed
- Rosario, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Jalajala, Rizal: All levels; public and private
- Kawit, Cavite: All levels; public and private
- Lian, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Tuy, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Calatagan, Batangas: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Tanay, Rizal: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Padre Garcia, Batangas: Pre-school to Senior High School; public and private
- Montalban, Rizal: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Bailen, Cavite: No face-to-face classes; all levels, public and private
- Ternate, Cavite: All levels; public and private
- Carmona, Cavite: All levels; public and private
- Pakil, Laguna: All levels; public and private
- Dasmariñas City, Cavite: All levels; public and private
On Sunday, PHIVOLCS reported a significant volume of volcanic smog emanating from Taal Volcano.
The Department of Health (DOH) has advised the public to stay indoors and wear masks due to the potential health risks posed by the smog.

Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 1, and according to state seismologists, there is currently no indication that this alert level will be raised.
