Government officials have announced the suspension of classes in several cities and provinces around the country due to the unfavorable weather brought by typhoon Carina.
The list of cities and municipalities that have called for the cancellation of classes in all levels are as follows:
- Cavite
- Malabon City
- Bataan
- San Juan City
- Parañaque City
- Pasay City
- Las Piñas
- Pampanga (face-to-face classes)
In some places such as the province of Pampanga, only face-to-face classes were suspended, as they encourage schools to adopt alternative learning modalities applicable to each school's learning continuity plans.
Additionally, some government offices announced the suspension of work in their respective places. The list of those who announced the suspension are as follows:
- City government of San Juan
- Parañaque City
In a memorandum issued by the Malacañang office, they also announced the suspension of government offices for NCR, except for those vital to the safety and health of the public.
"Agencies whose function involves the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services" the memorandum read.
Moreover, the suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.
