Local government units (LGUs) in cities and provinces have announced class suspension on Thursday, August 31 due to effects of the combined southwest monsoon, Severe Tropical Storm Hanna, and Super Typhoon Goring which is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

AS OF 8 AM, the classes at all levels in public and private schools are suspended in the following areas:

METRO MANILA

• Navotas
• Malabon
• Marikina
• Manila
• Caloocan
• Pasig
• Pasay
• Taguig
• Las Piñas
• Parañaque
• Quezon City
• Pateros
• Valenzuela
• Muntinlupa
• San Juan
• Mandaluyong (Kindergarten to Grade 12, including Alternative Learning System)
• Makati (Kindergarten to Grade 12)
• Pateros

CAVITE PROVINCE

• Ternate City (Preschool to high school)
• Cavite City
• Kawit City
• Bacoor City
• Imus City

OTHER PROVINCES:

• Ilocos Norte
• Abra (Including work in government offices)
• Baguio (Preschool to senior high school)
• Benguet (Preschool to senior high school)
• Tuba, Benguet
• Buguey, Cagayan
• Appari, Cagayan
