Several local government units (LGUs) suspended classes on Thursday, June 15 due to the possible aftershock caused by the magnitude 6.3 earthquake that rocked Calatagan, Batangas, and nearby areas including Metro Manila.

In an advisory, Calatagan Municipal Mayor Peter Oliver Palacio declared class cancelation in the Municipality to give way for the initial assessment of the effects of the earthquake on school, public buildings, and other critical infrastructures.

Alfonso, Cavite Mayor Randolph 'Randy' Salamat Mayor also announced that in-person classes at levels in public schools are suspended and will be shifted into Modular Distance Learning (MDL).

The cancelation of classes in private schools, meanwhile, is left to the discretion of school heads or principals.
